I’m Alaura O’Dell.
For over twenty years I have been studying the craft of writing, taking various workshops and studying with respected authors and teachers, including Anne Lamott, author of Bird by Bird, and Maggie Smith who wrote Dear Writer. In 2016 I earned an MFA in Creative Writing & Consciousness, as I love writing so much!!!
In 2017 I founded Write Your Unique Story and I’ve been facilitating workshops, in-person and online, ever since. And I LOVE to teach writing classes to women, it’s MY PASSION!!!
I am also a published writer, being included in anthologies alongside Charlotte Brontë, Maya Angelou, Lousia May Alcott and Laura Huxley, to name just a few. I recently contributed to The 70s & 80s New Wave and Post-Punk Almanac. If you are interested in this era, I encourage you to explore the book, which features distinguished contributors and insightful stories. And I am currently preparing another submission for a book to which I was invited to contribute to, The Lost of Albion.
